Tori Grace Nichols

Tori Grace Nichols (they/them) is as a prismatic performance artist. They can be seen performing drag and causing good trouble around Durham, NC as a cultural organizer. Their drag name is G-Clef and most folks call them Grace out of drag.

In 2022 they were selected as part of the inaugural Transfire Artist Residency for Acorn Center for Restoration and Freedom. They also received a scholarship to attend the Encompass Collective NYC acting intensive - an initiative created by graduates of Yale Drama School Graduate Program.

Recent acting credits include Dreaming (assistant puppeteer) with Duke Performances and Freakshow (Mr. Flip) with The Women's Theatre Festival. Recent writing credits include sketch comedy with Kahoots Comedy and two audio dramas, Stretchy Shorts and Crocodile Twins, for the podcast platform Artist Soapbox.

Tori Grace is interested in reclaiming joy as a subversive and winning strategy. Not naively or out of touch but as an intentional counter strategy to the oppression and systemic attempts to kill our spirits.

Considering all the different possibilities in the multiverse, they wonder what would happen if we learned to not take this human experience so seriously. How would levity not only help us survive these difficult times, but support our evolution into a different existence; one that is slower and less harmful.
